An optional container
A breath, if you want one
This isn’t the mechanism — your assumption is. But if a slower body makes a new story easier to actually occupy, here is a simple one to borrow. Nothing below is required.
Begin
Inhale for four, hold for four, exhale for six. Let the counting matter less than the letting go.
If you want to use it
01
Settle
Find a quiet place to sit or lie down. Let your shoulders drop and your jaw unclench.
02
Breathe
Follow the circle below: four counts in, four held, six released, two at rest. Repeat for a few cycles, or don't — there's no required number.
03
Choose
Once settled, choose the story you actually want — plainly, without needing this moment to prove anything. The breathing didn't do this. You did.
